Label Spotlight: Habibi Funk

Eclectic sounds from the Arab world. Founded and run by Jannis Stürtz and Malte Kraus specialising in reissues of music from the Middle East and North Africa.

The label started when Stürtz visited Casablanca and and bought an album by Fadoul. When they learned that Fadoul had died in the 1990s, they found his family and reissued his work, splitting the profits with the artist's estate.
